How to

How to write a good blog post

Here are some easy steps and tips to help you write a short and interesting blog post in English. Your post will be about a classroom activity or an extra-curricular activity you did at school. Follow these steps carefully!

STEP 1: Think Before You Write

Ask yourself:

  • What activity did we do?

  • Why did we do it?

  • What subject(s) was it connected to?

STEP 2: Structure Your Blog Post

Try to include all of these points:

1. Introduction

  • Say what the activity was.

  • Say when and where it happened.

Example: On 15th March, we visited the Science Museum in Zaragoza as part of our Physics class

2. Main Body

  • Explain what you did in the activity.

  • Say who took part (students, teachers, groups, etc.).

  • Explain why this activity was important or interesting.

  • Say what subject(s) it was related to and what topics or content you studied.

Example:

We learned about renewable energy. This connects to what we studied in Technology and Natural Science class.

3. Reflection

Answer these metacognitive questions in a short paragraph:

  • What did you learn from this activity?

  • What was the most interesting or surprising part?

  • How can this activity help you in the future?

STEP 3: Add Photos

  • Choose 1 to 3 photos from the activity.

  • Make sure the photos are clear and appropriate.

  • Add a short caption for each photo.

Example: This is our group working on the water filtration experiment.

STEP 4: Check your work

Before you send your post, ask yourself:

  • Did I include all the required information?

  • Did I answer the three reflection questions?

  • Did I use clear and simple English?

  • Did I add 1 to 3 photos?
